Kelly Graham Tick, executive director of One Caring Human Society and registered massage therapist, ran an outreach program in a care home in Surrey, BC. In 2020, the program was suspended due to COVID isolation requirements for residential care facilities and reinstated 18 long months later, in the fall of 2021.

During confinement, residents suffered greatly from isolation, lack of connection and loneliness. When Kelly was able to return to offer gentle massage and compassionate presence, Marion Rowe, a resident and dear friend, expressed to her that if just one caring human had been able to visit regularly to give them company, compassion and touch, it would have made things so much easier.

 

And thus One Caring Human Society was born.
